July 2026 Meeting

Meeting 7-9:00pm-ish on July 9th, 2026, with the monthly meeting happening at Laurel Auto Clinic, aka “Carl’s Shop” in Laurel, MT. You should know by now where this place is at. Attendees tonight were Carl, Ken, Matt, Dean, Briant, Luke, Micah, Lane, Jared, Bill, Pepe, Chris and Kindra.

—-*Carl Jones (El Jefe), Matt Boggio (El Jefito), Lane (Treasurer), and Kindra (Secretary) graced us with their presence this evening. *—-

TREASURERS REPORT:

The club’s finances include: $24,125.84 with no outstanding debts at this time. Looks like Lane either spent it all and then won it back or didn’t take it at all. Or used it to double and kept half….sus.

*Super S*it Street was a success! So many pretty ladies came out to race. We had a pink ball gown, a lime green night club dress, two indigo Golden Girls numbers and a young, tall drink of water in a beautiful pink prom gown brought her parasol for the track walk. Some drivers were on other drivers’ old tires. Other drivers were on the first driver’s old tires. Like a Goodwill parking lot tire swap. See Facebook for timing results on this and hopefully for Kindra’s 360 video for the fashion.

*Helena – We are ready to rock in Helena and Luke will secure some water for the event, courtesy of Lockwood IGA. Thanks Luke, as we are certain staying hydrated is where it’s at this summer. We plan to set track as soon as we can get into the venue, so that will be on Friday evening sometime. If you can make it, that would be great, it does take some time and help is always appreciated.

*Corvette Club – Ken presented to the club a possible accord with the Corvette Club, our sanctioning, bucket help, and a venue at Laurel Airport. This will take place next May, and Carl will initiate the questions with Laurel Airport when he calls this week. Ken would broker the deal with the Corvette Club and pass the dollars owed to Carl at the end. Possible tangible club benefit would include us using the venue on Sunday after the Corvette Club is finished from Saturday (sloppy seconds, but still gonna crush their times we are certain). More to come as this plan evolves.

*Laurel Airport – We had great success with Laurel Airport in receiving us, and they have been excited to have us out to utilize their parking pad and other areas of hard top (Yay!) However, there are no Laurel dates for this season at this time. Carl will continue to reach out, maybe we can look to September 12-13, he has contacted the airport board and is waiting for a reply, he says he will follow up this week sometime. The airport hosts firefighting equipment, so we have to just wait and see what the summer brings us. Thanks Carl!

*Lewistown – Carl sent the contract and it has been started for our events out there. There are no facilities, only porta johns and entry will be at 5pm on Friday night. Camping is permitted. We will see what we have to work with and hopefully we can turn this venue into something we can really utilize due to its proximity to most of our members.

*Acton – August 22-23 dates seem to have a conflict with the air show in Billings. No worries tho. If you can only come out one day and not the other, fine. If you come out for both days, cool. If you don’t come out at all, I guess that’s ok too. There will be patching with cold patch the week earlier. Get with Carl for times and exact instructions and help your club out, we plan to patch sometime around Aug 11.

*Track and Track Design – Coming from the SCCA, we now need to have certified track designers. The name and design are required to be entered into the online paperwork at the time of sanctioning. If you think you have what it takes, maybe you’d like to be the one to decide features or just how long to make that glorious slalom you always wanted, talk with Carl or Matt and get your certifications in order. They know what to do and can help you get started.

*RallyX – RallyX events will need a new lead track designer and safety steward, as Matt has stepped down from those roles for RallyX. If anyone is interested in doing this, see Matt or Carl. Matt will still do the sanctioning paperwork and some behind the scenes things for RallyX. If you think this position might be for you, go check it out. You have a few months to get it figured out.

*Helmets – Check your brain buckets peeps, the final SNELL year is 2010, as those helmets are only good until October of this year, 2026. The SCCA has extended through this season to allow the new year rating to be maximized for your new purchase. If you’re unsure, talk with Briant, our new Chief of Safety/Tech Inspection/Master Classer.

*Pronto – We are still waiting on Pronto to give us our RallyX results from this season and Bridger results from May. Look out for these (hopefully soon) on Facebook.
