September 2025 Meeting

Meeting today, September 10th, 2025 at Carl’s shop, Laurel Auto Clinic. Laurel, MT. Attendees tonight include Carl, Jordan, Dean, Briant, Luke, Jess, Dave, Jared, Lane, Micah, Chris, Kindra and Matt. Tonight we had a awesome rain storm, and we were able to lay eyes on a New-to-you Volkswagon Jetta. Dave got himself a new hot-girl whip. Dayammmm! He says he is the second owner. Chris says “and last owner.”

*Treasurers Report:

Lane reports we have $20,904.75. Luke brought in the BBQ money, he reports it is about “$100-some”. I thought we should have counted it. I mean yes, the sealed envelope went from Luke’s hands to Lanes hands….. But maybe there was confetti in it. Not money… Just kidding!. Lane also reports some amount of petty cash “3-4 hundred” and Big Sky has been paid for last years RallyX Season.

* CONEHEADS – Coneheads is upon us! Remember to register and get your crap in line! Camping is allowed, no tent stakes. No drugs or alcohol. Remember to get your allotted supply of Brawndo before we go!

*Metra – The Metra was contacted for next season as Carl is trying to get us some dates set up for next season so don’t cry that AutoX is almost ending. There will be more events next summer. But, you can shed a tear or two. Carl was told that the Metra will no longer allow us to rent their space. They cited insurance issues and sealing the upper lot. The Metra is governed by The County Commissioners, so we need to make some plans or send a letter pleading our case. We have our own insurance. We are also thinking we could possibly use the lower lot in the interim. Our club is nothing but respectful, and we pay our way as well as carry our own insurance. Carl is gonna get some things done up to help our case, and in the meantime, be on the lookout for more lots. Also, make sure to come out to our last event of the year, Motorin’ at the Metra. Lane and Jared will spearhead track design; Safety Stewards will be Briant and Carl.

*Year End Banquet – The year end banquet will be held October 24 at 6pm. Same Bat time, same Bat channel. Carl will see if Jennifer can get us the same building, HDR. Hopefully there is still a ping pong table. Dave might go nuts. We hope to have a 50/50 raffle as well! There will also be a great bucket to raffle from O’Reilly’s and possibly Napa. So save your dollars, dig up your lucky Troll (no bingo dobbers), and find those traditional family recipes for your side dish. Choose wisely tho, make sure it goes well with Dogs, Buns and Burgers for the Banquet. (Thanks Luke!) No one will want Granny’s Everything Salad. Unless it’s actually good. We are hoping to get a signup sheet going so we also don’t have 8 different macaroni salads. Trophies will be presented at the banquet, so make sure you return it to Carl (if you won last year… ahem. Darrin and Luke) and make sure to cast your votes! Remember, if you waited until the end of the season to vote, (shame on you) you can still get those votes in at the final Metra Event. You are also able to cast ALL of your votes at once. (Yay! But still. Why procrastinate?)

*Shrine – The schedule is being worked on as we speak, and The Shrine is on the list. Thankfully.

*Lewistown – Dean was able to go to a drifting event and score some great footage of the Lewistown raceway venue. We were able to ride with him as he cruised the paddocks and road course areas. There is a lot of potential out there, and the cost is gonna be very affordable. Make sure to tell your friends about this exciting opportunity, because we will need this venue to add to our stable of choices. More to come! (oh, and the price is right at $250 per day!) And yes, we can camp out there! Ideas include doing a ProSolo, Indexing, and a time attack/road course. The options are endless!

*Roundup Airport – We are still looking into it, nothing has come of it so far.

*RallyX – Matt has lined up a workday, I believe it was today (I am late with the newsletter). Hope it looks good (I’m sure it will be). Dean and Jordan have promised themselves to Matt. Briant can get a drone and see what we can do about some footage. Posters will be up and out as soon as Dan gets them going and they are proofed. Congrats to Kaylie for winning Poster Child for the RallyX 2025-2026 season! Congrats to Matt for the runner up! Look for these two worthy competitors at the next RallyX event! I bet they’d even sign your poster!

*NIGHT RALLY – Night Rally is swiftly approaching! CW has agreed to allow night rally, and we are over the moon about it! More to come! We discussed high-vis vests, and headlight/taillight requirements. Make sure to get lights on those bad boys! Drivers meeting for Night Rally will be at 2pm on Saturday (November 8) so each group will have a session in the dusk and in the dark. The weekend will continue with fun on Sunday, November 9 with RallyX as usual in the daylight hours. I know last months’ newsletter stated Drivers’ meeting at 2:30pm. Either way. Come early. Hang out. Catch up. Just get out here! Google says the sunset will be at 4:50pm that day. This inaugural event will prove to be loads of fun and excitement!

**IMPORTANT DATES**

Sept 20-21 – ConeHeads (Helena)

OCT 4-5 – Motorin’ at the Metra (Billings)

Nov 8-9 – NIGHT RALLY at YDS (Yellowstone Drag Strip)

Mid meeting it was found that Carl needs a Jeep motor. Got one? And Micah says that “Only the finest car parts come from Commerce City, California.” It was also suggested that night rally has Chem Lights, Light bars, Light Plants and the like. Just make sure you can be seen. Reflective would be helpful! Lane brought in some homegrown raspberries, both the deep-red traditional ones AND the golden light pink ones! They were delicious! During the discussion, Lane discussed an objects’ heith. Dave says it is pronounced height. Lane also self reports he says wolfs rather than wolves. Who knows.
