Meeting Minutes

October 2016 Meeting

The monthly membership meeting of the Yellowstone Region SCCA was called to order by Regional Executive Dean W. Johnson on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at 6:05 p.m., in the GH&R law firm conference room. The attendance of several prospective members was noted.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: A motion was MS&P to accept without addition or correction the minutes of the September 2016 meeting as published in the September 2016 issue of Fast Times.

Treasurer’s Report: Secretary/Treasurer J. Reuss reported the current checkbook balance and noted that all bills have been paid. A motion was MS&P to accept the Treasurer’s Report.

Old Business: Work continues in the area of the PA system. Dean purchased (and donated to the Region) a portable PA system that runs on battery, 12 volt, or 110 volt power. Dean also donated a replacement microphone to be used in the last-ditch effort to save the existing PA system.

New Business/Announcements: Dean submitted his application to become a Solo Safety Steward. Dean must have 2 years’ experience as a licensed SSS to upgrade to a SSS Instructor. J. reviewed the job responsibilies of the Region officers and other positions with the prospective members. It was noted that the election of officers for 2017 will take place at the December meeting. Potential site acquisitions was also discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:50 p.m.

YDS III

By the Roving Regional Reporter

The September event brought the (short) 2016 season to a close on a high note. The weather couldn’t have been nicer and 26 entrants enjoyed 12 runs each.

In the “new news” department, John Bonner purchased Riley Kelly‘s LS-powered XP 1993 Maxda RX-7.  John wasted no time putting the car solidly in first place nearly a second ahead of Bill Blaquiere‘s C7 Corvette. In third place was Nels Jensen in his (now) Honda S2000-powered Toyota Corolla.

Fourth place went to the always-fast David Greenfield in his ASP Lancer EVO.Luke Bonner placed 5th in his Camaro SS ahead of James Reuss in the “$300 Civic.” James Papallo (Civic), Rachel Bonner (LS-RX-7), Jim Coons(WRX), and Tucker Stewart (Miata), rounded out the top 10.

John Bonner‘s brother, Luke Bonner, placed first in the PAX time results followed by Blaquiere, Stewart, Papallo, Coons, and Greenfield.

Although they tried mightily, neither Jerod or Kaitlin Staebler were able to beat (first-timer) 10-year-old Tate Staebler‘s time in the kart!

In other notable performances, Rachel Bonner had no trouble adapting to the LS-powered RX-7, finishing 8th overall in her first outing with the “beast.” Also,Pat Reuss in her GSL Abarth took particular glee in edging out Dean Johnsonin his “MyT13B.”

Drivers were both entertained and frustrated by a unique feature Dean Johnson incorporated into the course. Pictured in the footer image at the bottom of this issue is the circle of cones that had one set of cones serving as both the entrance and the exit. Drivers quickly learned that you needed a plan before you entered the circle as to how you were going to turn around. On many occasions, drivers without a plan ended up using reverse gear! Curiously, the quickest “in and out” were Luke Bonner in his Camaro SS and Tate Staebler in his kart. Luke literally turned that Camaro “on a dime” and got “nine cents change.”

Pictures and full results are here.

YDS III marked the return of Nels Jensen and his XP 1985 Toyota Corolla. (The Toyota twin-cam has been replaced with a Honda S2000 power plant.)

One-year-old Matrim Jones helped Kaitlin Staebler in the timing trailer, while his mother and father, Carl and Jenny Jones (pictured above), duked it out for bragging rights in their first autocross ever. (In the end, it was Carl ahead of Jenny by 0.58 seconds in the family’s FS 1996 Ford Mustang.)

 MyT13B’s Corner

From the Regional Executive

“MyT13B” made significant progress over the course of the 2016 season–although that progress did not always translate to winning times. What was thought to be a sticking throttle at the YDS III event turned out to be driving shoes that were too wide. Post-event testing revealed that a tight pedal box and the steering column caused my braking foot to catch the left edge of the accelerator pedal. Accordingly, on hard braking, I was also experiencing hard acceleration. Adding some heel space to the pedal box seems to have solved the problem. However, I will have to wait until next year to find out for sure.

Also, the fuel delivery problems seem to have disappeared following the installation of new injectors.

At the recent YDS event, I was presented with the “2016 Bearcat Award.” The plaque on the trophy states that the award is given for my “many years of dedicated service to the club.” The award features a beautiful scale model of a 1915 Stutz Bearcat that was designed and built from scratch by Regional Executive Dean W. Johnson‘s father, Clark Johnson. Click here for the full story about the award.

I looked up the word “bear cat” and note that one definition is “a person or thing that is marked by special power or force.” I don’t know if I have any “special power or force,” but often I feel like I lack the ability to say “no.”

Notwithstanding, the award is a lovely gesture and truly appreciated. Thank you all, and particularly, Clark!

2016 Bearcat Award

The Region recently presented Sec./Treas. J. Reuss with the “2016 Bearcat Award” for his many years of dedicated service to the club.

The award features a beautiful scale model of a 1915 Stutz Bearcat that was designed and built from scratch by Regional Executive Dean W. Johnson‘s father, Clark Johnson.

Clark is a retired building contractor who keeps his woodworking skills sharp by building model cars, trucks, and farm equipment. Clark got his start approximately 4 years ago by building simple wooden toys for his great-grandson. Starting with a tractor, Clark progressed to pickups, trucks, a wrecker (Tow Mater, the character in “Cars”), and road graders.

Clark’s most complex build was a 1907 Rolls-Royce. To build that car, Clark worked from a plan that was twice as large as he wanted and used metric measurements. Undaunted, Clark converted the measurements to the Imperial system and divided in half. Not happy with the first model, Clark started over and built a second which was more to his liking (and his high standards)!

The Bearcat model is constructed of 288 pieces and five types of wood–cottonwood for the seats, walnut for the wheels and darker parts, maple and birch for the light-colored parts, and bamboo for the wheel spokes (12 in the rear and 10 in the front–just like the “real” car) and the (operable) steering column. The car rides on functioning leaf springs fashioned from steel banding, and the wood has a coat of clear polyurethane.

While he was at it, Clark built a second Bearcat at the same time he built this car.  With no plans to work from for this car, he used photographs he downloaded from the Internet to create the design.

As far as the “real” Stutz Bearcat is concerned, it was a shorter and lighter version of the standard Stutz passenger car. It was originally powered by a 390-cubic-inch, 60-horsepower straight-four engine produced by the Wisconsin Motor Company. Common with racing and sports cars of the period, it featured minimal bodywork:  a “dog house” hood, open bucket seats, a tiny “monocle” windscreen in front of the driver, and a cylindrical fuel tank on a short rear deck.

The original production Bearcat was introduced in the 1912 Series A. The first public mention of the car (then spelled “Bear Cat” ) was in an advertisement in the 1912 program for the Indianapolis 500 mile race. This ad also was the first to use the soon to be famous Stutz slogan “The Car that made good in a day” referring to the Stutz racer’s 11th-place finish in the 1911 Indianapolis 500.

The Series E of 1913 brought electric lights and starter. A six-cylinder option was available for an extra $250.00 (equivalent to $5,986 in 2015). Owning a Stutz Bearcat became a famous status symbol for the wealthy of the era. In 1914 it was priced at $2,000 (equivalent to $47,249 in 2015), almost four times that of the basic Model T.

September 2016 Meeting

The monthly membership meeting of the Yellowstone Region SCCA was called to order by Regional Executive Dean W. Johnson on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 5:41 p.m., in the GH&R law firm conference room.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: A motion was MS&P to accept without addition or correction the minutes of the May 2016 meeting as published in the May 2016 issue of Fast Times. There were no membership meetings in June, July, or August. Regional issues were addressed during workers’ breakfasts prior to events during those months

Treasurer’s Report: Secretary/Treasurer J. Reuss reported the current checkbook balance and noted that all bills have been paid. A motion was MS&P to accept the Treasurer’s Report. It was noted that despite fewer events being held this year, increased attendance had pushed the Region’s bank account above last year’s level on the same date.

Old Business: The PA system in the timing trailer is in need of repair/replacement. Dean offered to donate an old CB radio he was not using.J. will be sourcing a new loudspeaker.

New Business/Announcements: Dean indicated an intention to become a Solo Safety Steward. A discussion was held regarding the loss of Reserve Center. A decision was made to contact Metra and Yellowstone Drag Strip to see if they could accommodate the Region on short notice to avoid cancelling the September 25th event. It was decided that if the Region could secure one additional site, 6 events would be held in 2017. If the Region could secure two additional sites, 7 or 8 events would be planned.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:20 p.m

Top Gun 2016

By the Competition Chair, Tucker Stewart

Top Gun has been historically the largest autocross in Montana, and this year was no exception. 2016 was the first year that other states were allowed to compete for the traveling trophy. The majority of the 115 competitors came from out of state. Very competitive drivers showed up from Idaho, Utah, Washington, and a handful of other states. Representing Yellowstone Region  was Regional Executive, Dean Johnson, competing in E Modified, and yours truly in E Street.

The first day the course was set up for speed, with a few hard braking zones. Times were from 80-100 seconds, and many folks reporting they had to use 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears multiple times. On day 2, the course was much smoother, with more sweepers and wider exit cones. Those changes allowed the drivers with less powerful cars to catch up, while the times stayed about the same. By the end of the weekend, I ended up in 3rd in class–losing 2nd place by 0.180 seconds. Dean ended up 3rd in his class as well. The drivers from Spokane really brought their A-game and were able to snag the trophy and bring it out of Montana for the first time ever.

This event give drivers a chance to prove themselves in a very competitive environment. With people showing up in multiple classes with cars that are nationally competitive, everyone gets an opportunity to see where they can improve, while driving at one of the most unique locations in the state. The first year I joined SCCA, I was told if I wanted to learn how to go faster, go to Top Gun. That advice still holds true. To view the results from this year’s Top Gun, click here.

The “official” reason(s) we received from the Army National Guard for being denied access to their lot were:”the wording of the [SCCA] insurance,” “that there was a fee to attend the event,” and “that the [Montana Army Reserve National Guard] is not able to support any event that could be considered a fund raiser.” Also, the [Guard] “could not create the appearance that it was supporting a private organization.” As indicated in an email to members after the cancellation, the local folks at the Reserve Center had been very supportive of our plans, but “higher-ups” in Helena thought the event would involve “too much liability.”

The Marine Reserve car show scheduled for the lot was ousted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday while they were setting up. However, an adjoining property owner allowed the event to be moved across the street. The car show was fairly well attended. Although yours truly did not win a trophy, Region members Jerod Staebler and James Reuss “took home the hardware” for wins in their respective classes.

Metra was unable to accommodate the Region for its last event of 2016 because Indian Relay and team roping events needed most of the carnival lot. However, Yellowstone Drag Strip was available, so the September 25th event will proceed as scheduled (as long as the weather holds).

 Race Notes

From the Competition Chair

I have been following the testing of 200-treadwear tires in Grassroots Motorsports magazine. Of particular interest to me is that the tires were tested on a ST Mazda Miata driven by reigning Street Touring FWD champ David Whitener and autocross expert Andy Hollis. You can view the original articlehere, but the October issue tested the Kumho Ecsta V720 and compared it with the benchmark BF Goodrich g-Force Rival S. Long story short, the Rival S still posted faster times than the Kumhos, but at a price–$145 each for the BFGs and $115 for the Kumhos.

My overall takeaway? The current offerings of performance autocross tires are all great. Carefully-controlled testing produces results that are extremely close–typically with margins of less than a second. In the long run, tire “feel” and the “nut behind the steering wheel” more than make up the difference.

When I listed prior editors of Fast Times, I was certain that I would leave someone out. Former Region member Jeff Womack sent an email indicating the he and Dennis McCollough edited and produced the newsletter in the mid-80s for a few years. Jeff indicated that they did interviews with locals who owned interesting cars. That would be a great feature to continue–any volunteers?

The second shipment of Region t-shirts has arrived. We now have shirts in all sizes–including tank tops in small for women and children.

The Region will be cooking Costco hot dogs at the Yellowstone Drag Strip event. The cost will be an extremely low $2 for a dog, chips, and a drink. However, folks buying a t-shirt at the event will get lunch for free!

Since we “lost” an event, trophies will be awarded to all class winners at YDS as determined by trophy allocations generated by the timing software.

Pray for good weather!

Black Hills Corvette Classic

By the Newsletter Editor

Region members Steve Gruver and J. Reuss recently attended the 45th annual Black Hills Corvette Classic in Spearfish, SD. The week-long event starts in Sioux Falls, SD, and then moves westward to enjoy a variety of Corvette-related activities in the Black Hills. On Friday morning, an autocross was held in a lot on the campus of Black Hills State University. There were three run groups and each driver had four timed runs.

Steve won the C4 class and J. won the C5 class. A new feature debuted at this year’s event called the “Battle of the Pros” A professional driver from the Ron Fellows Corvette Driving School led off each run group and set a benchmark time to beat. Both Steve and J. beat the pro’s benchmark time, so they were eligible to race in the Battle of the Pros. A total of 10 drivers received another four runs each. Unfortunately, there were no “dial-in” times or other form of handicapping, so the supercharged C7s prevailed.

The Region’s next event is Sunday, August 28th at the National Guard Armory on Gabel Road. On the preceding day, the Region will be co-sponsoring a car show at the same location. The principal sponsor is the Marine Reserves. The current plan is to park the timing trailer on site together with a few members’ cars. The Region participated in a car show at Rimrock Auto a number of years ago and it attracted quite a bit of interest.

Chris Brewer’s departure reduced the Region’s staff of Solo Safety Stewards (SSS) to just one. The potential problem that is created is the possible cancellation of an event if the SSS cannot attend. A more immediate problem is that the SSS cannot drive at an events without another SSS being in attendance. With our membership at an all-time high, I am hopeful that (at least) one or two members will “step up to the plate” and become Solo Safety Stewards (and Solo Safety Steward Instructors). Becoming a SSS does not take much time–an hour or two in a training session followed by a quiz. Thereafter, you assist a SSS at a few events before becoming a full-fledged SSS. I look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions or if you are interested!

 Race Notes

From the Competition Chair

Assuming that everything goes well with the Region’s return to the National Guard Armory site in August, plans are being formulated to hold an autocross drivers’ school at the September event. The Region held a drivers’ school a number of years ago at the GM Petroleum site and by all accounts, it was well-received. The drivers’ school at GM Petroleum was held on Saturday evening. Neophyte cone chasers took their first runs with or without ride-along instructors and without a time clock running. Following a mid-event pizza party, the time clock was turned on and participants raced into the night under the lights! Dusk will arrive much sooner in late September, so headlights will probably be required. Many attendees entered the “regular” event the following day. This should be a great opportunity for spouses and friends to give the sport a try in a non-competitive environment.

“Team Owner” and Region member Pat Reuss participated in the drag racing event at the Black Hills Corvette Classic. Races are held on a drag strip just east of Sturgis, SD. The high point of the event was Pat’s 0.0121 reaction time on her sixth pass. The low point was a red light on her seventh pass. Pat drowned her sorrows with a post-race “S’loonshine” at the newly-reopened Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis. Some of you may recall that the “World’s Largest Biker Bar” was reduced to ashes last year shortly after the 2015 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The site has been cleaned up to some degree, but new construction has not begun as of yet.

This is the 100th newsletter since I volunteered to take over the job at the September 2007 membership meeting.  (Time flies when you’re having fun?) I followed in the capable footsteps of prior newsletter editors such as Char Schultz, Kristi Gilliland, Bill Schaff, Lance Peterson, and Dick Hager. The earliest newsletter of which we have a copy is from February 1973.  Yellowstone Drag Strip II

By the Newsletter Editor

The Region’s second event at YDS bested the attendance record set in May by 4 cars. Thirty-one drivers logged an average of 9 runs each for a total of 270 runs. The course was long and fast with the fastest time just shy of 50 seconds–clearly a “Corvette” course!

Appropriately, a Corvette driver (and new daddy), John Bonner, posted fast-time-of-day in his C7 Z06. Riley Kelly–with his Corvette-powered Mazda RX-8–placed second just 0.687 seconds behind John. James’ Reuss’ third-place finish in the $300 Civic bumped Luke Bonner and his Camaro SS off the podium. New Region member David Greenfield, in his super-fast Evo, was fifth. Jim Coons edged out (new mom) Rachel Bonner (driving the family Z06) by 0.110 seconds. Jeremy Vansant, James Papallo, and Tom Litton rounded out the top-10.

PAX scoring put the Bonner brothers on top, followed by Litton, Vansant, andPapallo. A notable PAX finish was Holden Knutson in his Mazda CX-5. Eddie Salcedo placed 11th in PAX scoring, unquestionably aided by much missing bodywork.

The temperatures were hot, but so was the competition. Complete results and more photos are available by clicking here.

From the Regional Executive

The Region recently received a check from the Black Otter Hillclimb Association. After many years of inactivity, the group decided to call it quits and donate the proceeds in its bank account to its closest relative, theYellowstone Region SCCA.

Many current members of the Region are not familiar with the Black Otter Hillclimb, so I asked friend-of-the Region Kristi Mathson to put together the following brief history:

The Black Otter Hillclimb was established in 1959 by a group of sports car enthusiasts and was initially called “The Stairway to the Stars.” The course was in Swords Park and was 1.10 miles in length. The starting line was midway between 6th Avenue North and Airport Hill Road, on what is now named the 6th Avenue Bypass Road. The finish line was at the top just before Yellowstone Kelly’s grave. In 1959, the fastest time was a Corvette driven by Dave Corville.  Dave turned an amazing 1:09.7.  Several years later, the Hill was taken over by the Sports Car Club of Montana (SCCM) and the name changed to the Black Otter Hillclimb. From 1959 to 1979, drivers attacked  the Hill with all they had and eight hill records were set in twenty years dropping the Hill record to 1:01.551.   In 1980, Grant Cameron, a veteran of the Hill, driving a Caldwell Formula Ford, broke the one-minute mark for a new Hill record of :59.654.  Grant’s record would stand for 3 more years before being broken again. The 60 Second Club was established to honor the men and women that could race the Hill in 60 seconds or less.  To date there are 9 drivers with that distinction.  Grant Cameron, Dick Hager, Dwight Gilliland, Larry Althoff,George Bowland, Jim Arnett, Kristi Gilliland, Kenny Richlens, and Susan Hagaman. There are also outstanding records and efforts in 42 other classes by men and women racing anything from a street-driven car to a home-built car to an off-road vehicle.  The Sports Car Club of Montana ran the event until the club’s dissolution in 1986.  The 1987 Hillclimb was to be ran under a different sanctioning body, but organizational problems and road construction prevented it from happening that year. In the following years, road construction at the base of the hill and insurance problems with the event itself kept the Hillclimb shut down. In 1994, a small group of dedicated diehards aligned themselves with the Northwest Hillclimb Association. With major effort, the 29th running of the Hill was a reality!  Once again, the Hill would come alive every August with the sound of race cars and the smell of tires! Unfortunately, due to construction and an interchange to allow traffic between Main Street, 6th Avenue, Alkali Creek, and Airport Road, the last running of the Black Otter Hillclimb was its 39th running in 2004.

 Race Notes

From the Competition Chair

Two “tallish” entries at YDS gave rise to a review of the “Rollover Potential Guidelines” of the SCCA Solo Rules. Unstable vehicles with a high center of gravity and a narrow track, including SUVs, minivans, and 4WD pickups, must be excluded if they have a potential to roll over. Rule 3.1 sets forth two guidelines which do not appear to be mutually exclusive. The first guideline compares the overall vehicle height to the average track width. The acceptable range is 1:1 or lower. In other words, if the vehicle is shorter (less tall) than its track width (the distance between the centers of the right and left wheels), you are good to go! Craig Perkin‘s 1987 Ford Ranger was initially suspect, but his 92″ track put him “in the clear.” See below.

The second guideline sounds more precise, but it is difficult to apply in practice. The guideline provides that vehicles with a “Static Stability Factor” (SSF) of less than 1.30 should not be allowed to complete in Solo events. SSF is defined as 1/2 the track width divided by the height of the center of gravity above the road. While measuring the track width and dividing it in half is easy, figuring out the height of the center of gravity cannot be accomplished during a typical pre-event tech inspection.

The $300 Civic returned to the track at YDS after a few teething problems were sorted. The throttle problems are behind us. The clutch held up for the entire day, but periodic ominous odors suggested that further work might be necessary.  A third-place overall finish byJames Reuss demonstrated that the car has real potential. Team members James and Kaitlin Staebler could not agree on what gears–out of the 6 available–worked best on the long course, however, James’ strategy of leaving the car in third resulted in faster times. The little compact didn’t have the legs to match John Bonner‘s Corvette and Riley Kelly‘s Mazda on the straights, but it obviously held its own in the “twisties.”

 June 2016 Meeting

The June monthly membership meeting of the Yellowstone Region SCCA will be held on June 7, 2016.

Season Opener at Yellowstone Drag Strip

By the Newsletter Editor

The Region’s season opener featured the largest attendance for a YDS event–27 entries. A total of 256 runs were timed which provided the average driver with 9.48 runs! There were many new drivers in attendance and a wide variety of previously unseen vehicles. Most of the names in the top ten were familiar. At the “top of the heap” was David Greenfield in his Mitsubishi Evo. Winning a close (.022) race for 2nd was Orry Boettger in his VW Golf over John Bonnerin his C7 Z06. Brother Luke Bonner was .687 seconds back in his ZL1. 5th, 6th, and 7th place were filled with the Mazdas of Riley Kelly, Jason Hudson, and Thomas Wietecki. Steve Gruver (C4 Corvette), Woody Jensen (Honda CRX), and Zane Job (Nissan 350Z) filled out the top-10.

PAX scoring put Orry on top and moved Greenfield’s ASP Evo down to 5th. Other than that, everyone stayed in pretty much the same order. Jackie Bell and her Mitsubishi Eclipse finished 14th overall and 9th in the PAX scoring–enough to earn her a trophy in Street Ladies. Yea, Jackie!

Jeremy Vansant’s RHD 1989 Nissan Skyline R32 was a crowd-pleaser as was the unveiling of Dean Johnson’s project car. The photos make the day look colder and gloomier that it actually was. The weather was actually quite pleasant and the rain held off until after we folded the tent. The event was capped off with trophies to the class winners. Quite a few Yellowstone Region t-shirts were also sold at the bargain-basement price of $15.00. We will keep our fingers crossed for similarly good weather for our next event at YDS on July 3rd.

 MyT13B’s Corner

From the Regional Executive

All things considered, the first event with my newly-restored RX-7 went as well as could be expected. The major problems that arose were tire clearance, overheating, a broken Panhard bar mount, and fuel issues. The rubbing tires required some re-contouring of the fenders. I replaced the radiator with another unit that was much cleaner inside. I repaired the Panhard bar mount with a 4-way adjustable extension to the frame. I will find out if I have resolved those problems when I attend the first Montana Challenge event in Helena next weekend,

As far as the fuel issues are concerned, I have not yet fully sorted out that problem. However, I anticipate that the next event will provide clues to narrow down the problem(s).

On the plus side, the car handles great and the improvements I made to the brakes are a blessing. Stop by and take a look at the car at an upcoming event!

 Race Notes

From the Competition Chair

In the “good news department,” I am pleased to report that Jonathan McTaggart’s LS-powered RX-7 has come home to roost in the Yellowstone Region. Good friend of the Region, Riley Kelly, purchased the silver beast from Jonathan just prior to his move to Fort Myers, Florida. in the “more good news department,” Riley still owns his beautiful Shelby Mustang.

For those of you thinking about replacing your worn-out tires with the latest performance street tires, make sure to check out the “Street Tire Shootout” articles in Grassroots Motorsports magazine. The June issue tests to newest tires on a road course, and in the next issue, the tires will be tested on an autocross course. So far, the BFGoodrich g-Force Rivals are besting the Maxxis Victra GR-1s and the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71Rs. Tester and article author Andy Hollis sure knows his stuff!

 The Finish Line

From the Webmaster

Many of your email servers apparently believed that the new newsletters sent from the inherent PHP WordPress mailer were akin to Nigerian scams or Viagra ads. Consequently, many were sent to spam folders or bounced. In an attempt to resolve that problem, we configured a new email STMP mailer plugin that makes it appear like it came directly from the Region’s gmail account. Delivery statistics are collected after each newsletter is sent, so I will report back next month.

The $300 Civic returned to the track at YDS after a long layoff for refitting. Team member James Reuss drew the short straw and drove the first run group. On the plus side, no tire clearance problems were noted and James finished all three of his runs–spinning only once. On the downside, we developed a problem with the throttle cable and the clutch adjustment that resulted in calling it a day. Dennis McCollough is confident that the two problems are easily solvable and final ECU tuning has been scheduled.
